Monthly Archives: January 2018

Forecast for Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Tons of Sun with a few high clouds from time to time for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement until further notice. February is set to receive the baton right where January will leave off. Warm and dry.

Today’s record of 82 was set in 1940 and hit again in 1987. If the forecast comes exactly true we will be close!

Mostly clear skies tonight. A few high clouds perhaps as the setting Super Blue Blood Moon will be totally eclipsed by the Earth tomorrow morning before sunrise. I’m planning on going out at 6:30 a.m. to see what should be a coppery Moon. The color may be enhanced since it will be low in the sky, much like enhanced colors of a sunset. We’ll see. I’ll be up anyway, so it’s definitely worth a look.

Mostly sunny tomorrow with a high in the upper 70s. Near 80 Thursday to start off February. Upper 70s Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, January 29, 2018

Who’s walking down the streets of the city? Smiling at everybody she sees? Everyone knows it’s Windy! Breezes overnight have kept this morning’s lows not so low and this afternoon’s high will soar to near the record high of 82. Winds crankin’ out of the east-southeast 20-30 mph gusting to near 40. As you know, it’s been dry lately. Combine that with low relative humidity, plus the wind, and the National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for high fire danger. Please for the love of all that is right and good be careful if you plan on setting stuff on fire today.

Clear skies tonight with winds relaxing overnight and a low in the upper 40s.

Sunny tomorrow upper 70s. Upper 70s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mid 70s Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Sunday, January 28, 2018

Wind and warmth the weather story for the next couple of days. East breezes already picking up this morning and should be gusting to near 30 mph as we go through the day. A few high clouds too for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement although they will be on the decrease later this afternoon. Today’s high near 75ish. Clear skies tonight with winds relaxing and a low in the upper 40s.

Windy tomorrow with east winds 20-25 mph gusting to near 40! Could see some areas of blowing dust even. Sunshine and warm otherwise. The record high of 82 was set in 1986. We’ll be close with an expected high near 80. Stay tuned!

Mostly sunny and nice Tuesday with a high near 78. Sunny 78ish Wednesday. Upper 70s Thursday, Friday and Saturday too. Enjoy!

Forecast for Saturday, January 27, 2018

All quiet on the southwestern front. A pretty average day for this time of year yesterday. The high of 67 was 1 degree above average and the low of 39 was 1 degree below. Average those and you get, well, average. Temperatures pushing higher as high pressure noses back into our business. Low 70s today. Mid 70s tomorrow. Gusty east winds Monday will help push our high to near 80. Winds relax on Tuesday with a high in the upper 70s. Upper 70s Wednesday too. Mid 70s Thursday and upper 70s Friday.

The National Weather Service says we are a lock for the warmest January on record. Our persistent pattern is expected to persist into February. Continued warmth for us while the northern, central, eastern and even southern parts of the nation look forward to another arctic outbreak. Yikes! Enjoy not having to shovel sunshine!
