Forecast for Friday, July 3, 2020

It’s Friiidaaay! Not only that, but my calendar says it is Independence Day Observed! Perhaps you have a paid day off. If so, awesome! I have a paid day working for which I am most thankful…

Meanwhile, the Tucson Weather is warming up. I know. Shocker! .06″ of an inch of rain at the airport yesterday! Some gusty winds with those showers yesterday as well. Viva Monsoon 2020! (it’s a start…) Our old pal High Pressure building in bringing our nemesis (depending on how you feel about it) The Heat back in to the forecast…

Sunny today and slightly below average with a high near 100ish. Mostly clear tonight mid 70s. 104 for the 4th and 5th. 105 Monday. 104 Tuesday with a slight chance for an evening storm. 103 Wednesday with a slight chance for an afternoon storm. 104 Thursday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Thursday, July 2, 2020

Well that escalated quickly! A FLASH FLOOD WATCH this afternoon?! Yep. But it’s not quite the good news that it sounds like. I mean, it IS good news that scattered showers and storms are in the forecast! However, it is because of the Bighorn Fire that the National Weather Service has issued the watch. The burn scars could mean runoff issues from any downpours that pour on the mountain. So yay! scattered showers and storms! But… the fire and its aftermath will likely continue to be an issue as we enter Monsoon 2020…

Increased moisture means scattered showers and storms this afternoon with partly sunny skies. Mid 90s this afternoon along with a FLASH FLOOD WATCH from 1:00 until 8:00. Showers ending tonight mid 70s. Mostly sunny tomorrow 100ish. 104 for the 4th. 105 Sunday. 104 Monday. 10% chance for storms Tuesday 103. Mostly sunny Wednesday 104. Enjoy!

Forecast for Wednesday, July 1, 2020

Welcome to July! I haven’t seen the June Climate Summary yet, but I’ll share it when I get it. I do know we finished the month with just .05″ of rain which I am sure is below average, but June is a dry month, so…

July starting out “nice” with a high today of “just” 98 which is 4 degrees below average. A slight chance for a storm this afternoon and evening. Any storms that form will be moving south to north and will have more in the way of gusty winds and blowing dust than rain. Typical early Monsoon Tucson Weather. A better chance for storms tomorrow mid 90s. 101 for Friday. 104 for the 4th with an isolated evening storm possible. 106 Sunday with a 10% chance for a storm perhaps. Mostly sunny 106 Monday. 104 Tuesday. Enjoy!
